Lily's Fairie Costume Is A Hit!

We did the preschool carnival at St. Theresa School today and our costume was a hit. Just when we walked in the door people where complimenting her dress left and right. Not to mention someone even took a picture of it. I spend hours on this costume and it paid off. The only thing that failed where the wings. Lily hates them because they're too big.

Next we will be heading out to Southcenter and do the mall trick or treating. I am overally excited to the point I have butterflys in my tummy. Halloween is the one time of year that I love the most. Why? I honestly do not know.

I will add pictures later on this evening if not tomorrow. I just need to go home and download them to my computer.

Halloween Is Coming!

This is by far my favorite holliday of the year! I love all the children and there costumes. It's so cute. We have Halloween almost planned out but, still looking for things to do.

Are plans:
  1. Go to St. Theresa in Madrona for the Halloween preschool event.
  2. Go to Southcenter mall for the trick or treating.
  3. Head back to either Queen Anne, Kent, or Madrona.

Job Interview! Horray!

I finished my enrollment at college and just need to go back and take the Compass test. I am still trying to figure out what I want to major in. I am clueless and do not have much help. I am thinking the healthcare area as I love to help people.

Also I have a job interview with USPS tomorrow and I am hoping that goes well. It would be nice to have a government job. Just getting my foot through the door for when I am done with college would be an A+ in my book.

Thinking About Football Camp

The Majestics are having a camp and those who are good at the end get to play in pro-womens football. I think it would be fun and I would have a chance to get my fustrations out. I am just going to look into it. It only cost $50 which is great! Low price and for the fun not for to join the team. If I happen to get accepted great if not that fine with me.

They have women of all sizes and ages in the previous camps so that great to. I am on the bigger size so at first was not sure but, after looking through the site it looks okay. Now I just have to talk with my partner on this one. He will tell me I am crazy lol.

I Am Not Going To Be A Statistic

Today I took one step closer to make a better life for myself. I sent in an application to go to school at Green River Community College. I am so excited about this and will be going to an orientation later next week and finish feeling out the second portion of the paper work.

I do not know what I am going to be but, know it is going to be better than what I am doing right now; nothing. School starts on Jan. 5th but, in the mean time I am hoping to find a seasonal position to help with paying rent and buying the littles ones Christmas gifts.

I want to think all who have inspired me to go beyond what I am doing. You guys are awsome!

I Wish I Could Go To School

Today I was looking through Facebook at all my former classmates from Franklin H.S. I noticed that most of them are going to be graduating in 2011. Great for them but, sad for me. How I wish I could go the school and further my education. I would give anything just to be able to have a degree on hand. I really feel like such a failure to myself. Granted I am only 21 years of age and still have time left but, right now I am doing nothing for myself.

It sounds so easy just to go enroll in a college but, I don't have the funds. Yes, there is financial aid and that alone is limited. I really messed up my credit so I can not get a student loan. I am basically stuck in a rutt and it sucks. I just want to be able to provide and be financially stable. I am not even close to that right now. I would be lucky to make $12 an hours.

What I would like to be is a nurse. There is alway a high demand and the money is good.

Relactating - A Fight Tell The Finish

I am in the process of relactating for my 6 month old. I was lazy and gave up on it now, I want to breastfeed again. Honestly formula is too damn expensive at $200 or more a month. My little guy will not even take the jar food or cereals so he eats more formula. However breast milk or formula is all they need for the first year.

On Monday evening is when I began my misson and there is no sign of milk just, sore nipples. I have been told and heard it takes about 2 weeks for anything to happen and a month for it to come in full. I just wish it was easier than that. I will be honest I am starting to get discouraged. However, that does not mean I am giving up that easy.

I am currently using a Medela double pump every 2 hours. I also have one of those Medela manual pumps I take with me. For aide in my mission I have fenugreek and domperidone (thanks to a kind mom). I take three domperidone and 6 fenugreek daily.

Did you know, you can produce breast milk without every being pregnant. This is very true women whom adopt or want to build a milk supply for whatever reason do this often. While it does take much longer and more time than those who have had children.

I will keep everyone posted on my mission to relactate.

New Photos Of My Little Model - Lily & Chris

I have a love for photography. If only I had a professional camera, I could take that love to the next level. Right now I am working with a Sony Cyber Shot. My favorite photo editing software to work with is Corel Paint Shop Pro. Corel is just like Adobe but, easier to use and has more features. Maybe when income tax day comes I will get a new camera. I cross my fingers and hope.

Stop Driving & Talking On Your Cell Phone!

You are walking to the grocery store, with you child in a stroller. Suddenly, out of know where a person who is talking on the cell phone almost hits you and your child. Your heart beats fast and you almost don't know what to do.

This is what happen to me the other day. I was walking and a man came less the an inch to hitting my stroller. I was thinking what if he did not have good breaks, would my children and I still be alive? In the state of Washington cell phone use while driving is illegal but, people still do it any way. The other day while walking near Kent Meridian High School I counted how many people where using cell phones. There was a whopping 23 people on cell phones. I was counting for about 5 minutes.

I know one thing for sure. When someone calls my cell phone and I am driving I will not answer it because, I do not want to put other peoples life in danger. I also know that when I am talking on the phone it is harder for my to focus one what I am doing.

Do more and more people have to die to relize how dangerous this is?

Tinkerbell Costume Made By Me!

I have been trying to find the perfect costume for my daughter. I checked Party City, Gymboree, Children's Place, & More. Suddenly a light bulb turned on! Whallaa! I can make my own costume for her.

The Tinkerbell costume was fairly easy to make and only cost me $26 at my local fabric store. I used 10 yards of tulle, elastic, and ribbon. The best thing was it took me only 1.5 hours to do. Now I am hunting for the perfect wings. I found Tinkerbell shoes at the Goodwill Outlet for less than $1.

Below is the picture. Please do let me know what you think. As you can see some of the tulle has glitter. My daughter picked out the glitter tulle.

Looking for a job in Washington

I have been looking for a job with little luck. Christmas is coming and money is tight enough. Today I have applied for over 20 different positions with hopes someone will contact me for an interview. Has this economy got so bad that I, can not find a single opening? Honestly, right now I am not picky, I just need at least an income of $1,250 a month. This would help a great deal.

I am just going to cross my fingers, pray to God, and hope I will have a job I like within the next two weeks. It really sucks when you have to sell your things just to get money for diapers.

Also I have been using Craig's List. If you know a job search site that you like in Washington let me know.

About me

I am a 21 year old mother of two children. I have a 6 month old son and a 2 year old daughter. My son is a big boy weighing in at about 25 pounds. He is already wearing 12-18 months clothing. It is so hard to keep up with his size changes. My daughter is rather petite and where her 2T clothing.

I am OCD when it comes to baby and toddler clothing. I like buying clothing for my children more than I do for myself. I love finding a good deal on Children's clothing. I will add deals I have found and great places to shop in Seattle and surrounding areas in my blog.

Some of things I enjoy are:
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Games - Darts & Pool
  • Listening to music
  • Attending events with my children
  • Shopping
